Our bridge holiday for 2010 visits Bournemouth and having viewed the hotel we are extremely pleased with not only the facilities but the welcome and assistance that was afforded. The Marsham Court Hotel is very suited for bridge holidays and hosts many of these including Mr. Bridge who returns every year.
The hotel is situated on the cliff top overlooking the bay. A short stroll to the pier, beaches, gardens, and town centre. The hotel has 3 Star rating with excellent lounge and bar facilities, and the bedrooms offer satellite television, telephone, hospitality tray, hairdryer. All rooms are on suite with a lift to all floors.
The holiday is licensed by the English Bridge Union and is open to all bridge players; it is not necessary to be a member of any club, county association or the English Bridge Union to participate. It is designed to be fun for all from the inexperienced to regular club players.
The cost is £240 per person based on two sharing, (a reduction from last year and should there be in excess of 60 players, everyone attending will be reimbursed by £10.) and includes the following:
- Half-board accommodation.
- Return coach from Leicester and Loughborough. A refund will be given to those using their own vehicles, if the coach is full. On site complimentary parking.
- Teas/coffees served mornings and afternoons and after dinner in the evening.
- Dick Pathan, who was so popular and successful last year, to direct the bridge and hold 3 seminars.
- Bridge on Monday evening followed by 2 sessions of bridge on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
- Masterpoints and prizes to be awarded.
- A host will be available for all sessions, and therefore it will not be essential to come with a playing partner, though this is recommended wherever possible.
There are limited single occupancy rooms available (20) at a supplement of £40. Should you wish a room with sea view there is a supplement of £10 per room per night. For those travelling by their own transport and wish to spend Sunday night at the hotel there is an extra charge of £35 per person (no single room supplement) for dinner, bed and breakfast.
