Host System exceptions
The host system operates on Monday and Thursday evening and Friday afternoon, except where advertised.
The sessions where the host system is suspended are;
- Club competitions.
- Simultaneous pairs competitions.
- Club heats of LCBA competitions.
Should individual players turn up on these sessions by mistake, the host system (without a host) will operate with the following provisos.
- In the case of a full house, players from the host system shall be the first to be sent home.
- If there is sufficient room for only some the the players in the host system to play then the pairs that draw the highest cards shall have priority.
- In case of an odd number of players in the host system, the player that draws the lowest card shall go home.
Where we advertise a host system, we do try hard to find a member to be a host. On rare occasions where the designated host withdraws at short notice (or when we can't get a volunteer), the host system will still operate. However the player who draws the lowest card is then designated the host. In the case of an odd number of players, that player has to go home, but will get a free play ticket.
The Club policy on the host system has more detail on this.
