The LCBA's Otto & Edith Mixed Pairs trophy will be held at the County Club on Wednesday 1st October.

Club Holiday

5th September 2008

This year's club holiday will take place between Monday 23rd to Friday 267th March 2008.

Because of the huge success of last year's holiday, we have decided to return to Portsmouth again.

We have also secured the services of Andrew Kambites again as our resident director.

Ramnik Samani

28th August 2008

We are sorry to learn that Ramnik Samani died on Friday 22 August.

He was an LCBA life member, and had been awarded the Dimmie Fleming award by the EBU.

His funeral will be on Monday September 1st at 11.30 am at Gilroes Crematorium, Groby Road, Leicester LE3 9QG. All from the bridge world will be welcome.

Samani's son has requested No Flowers, but donations to Cancer Research will be appreciated.

Summer Knockout Progress

28th August 2008

County B lost to Paul Bowyer's Clarendon team in the final of the Cup competition. The +640 handicap was not enough.

At the half-way stage, the match was quite close - only -140 on scratch. However the third stanza saw a 1NT doubled making two tricks, a misseed game and a vulnerable game let through to leave County B too much to make up in the final stanza.

Hurwich Quaich

13th August 2008

Week 9 scores are now in.

Ayers beat Bruce in the top of the table clash. This meant they finished level on VPs but then win on the tie-break.

Stokes lost to Preston, but managed to get enough points to finish third.

Travers finished with another good win to take fourth place.
